Too cold to light Olympic Torch

__________

10 Nov 09 – Email from reader in Canada

Mr. Felix,

As the Olympic torch makes its' way around Canada before the 2010 Games in Vancouver, some stops were scheduled in northern Canada. This article highlights climate change's (supposed) effect on polar bears and global warming, etc., but also briefly notes that minus 40 degree temperatures made it impractical to light the torch outdoors, so they needed to do it in a bus.

Thanks for your efforts,

Peter Leyser

     Thanks Peter,

If you read far enough in this article in the Canadian Press, you’ll
come to the part where it admits that the Inuit – who actually live
there – “say the threat to polar bears is exaggerated.” I wonder
why we don’t hear about that?
