 DECEMBER OF 2008 HAS ENTERED THE TOP 5 SNOWIEST DECEMBERS ON RECORD

FOR SPOKANE.

          1.  1996    42.7 INCHES

         2.  1964    42.0 INCHES

         3.  1992    40.2 INCHES

         4.  1951    39.4 INCHES

         5.  2008    37.5 INCHES **

AS OF MIDNIGHT DECEMBER 23RD ... SNOW TOTAL FOR THE MONTH WAS  37.5 INCHES. ANOTHER SIGNIFICANT SNOW STORM IS EXPECTED ON CHRISTMAS EVE INTO CHRISTMAS...FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER STORM THIS WEEKEND. CHANCES ARE GOOD THAT DECEMBER 2008 WILL BE THE SNOWIEST DECEMBER ON RECORD.

 SNOWFALL RECORDS HAVE BEEN KEPT IN SPOKANE SINCE 1883.
