Snow is falling, snow is falling, snow is falling down

A sixth-grader in Idaho is sick of the snow

Dear Mr. Felix,

I follow and enjoy your website.  While I don't agree with your evolutionary and old-earth perspective, I appreciate the different angle on the "global warming" controversy.  As a science teacher, I make sure that my students hear that "global warming" is simply a theory, and that other theories about climate change have significant evidence to back them up.

I teach chemistry, physics, and math at a traditional Catholic school in Post Falls, Idaho: Immaculate Conception Academy.  A sixth-grade student at ICA, son of a fellow teacher, wrote the following.  The fact that it snowed both yesterday and today here prompted me to send this to you.  His poem was posted on a bulletin board at ICA:

Alexander Chojnowski's "Top Ten" Poem

Anticipation

Snow is falling, snow is falling, snow is falling down.
I jump out of bed so quickly
My feet hardly touch the ground.
Dressed in a flash, and out the door
The arrival of the snow,
Who could ask for more.
Snow is falling, snow is falling, snow is falling down.

December, January, February, Snow is falling down.
Flying down the slopes
Looking all around!
Snowman building, igloo making,
Angels on the ground.
Snow is falling, snow is falling, snow is falling down.

By April snow is falling, Still falling all around.
I drag myself out of bed now,
Sick of that silent sound!
I'm dreaming of the ocean,
The sun, the sand, and the pool.
But, snow is falling, snow is falling, snow is falling down.

Congratulations to Alexander! His poem was one of the "Top Ten" poems out of several thousand in a recent "A Celebration of Poets" contest.

Yours truly, and
wishing you a happy and holy Easter,
Hendrik Mills
