Sun-loving seal swims 1,000 miles to Spain
(Maybe he knows something)

16 Nov 07 - Sahara the hooded seal has been found in Spain, 1,000 miles away from his sub-zero Arctic waters.
.

.
It is the second time this year he has gone wildly astray.

Just seven months ago, while he was still a pup, he was found off the Moroccan coast near the Sahara desert - hence his name.

He was bald and malnourished because he had not learned to feed himself properly and had shed his fur to stop from overheating.

He was taken to the National Seal Sanctuary in Cornwall - where he was nursed back to health - and transported to the Orkneys to be released last month.

Sahara's latest trip south has baffled scientists, who are wondering whether global warming could be to blame.

Global warming? Or does he somehow know that Spain is going
to become colder and snowier - a more comfortable place for him
                to live?
