Mar 25 A weekend snowstorm helped push some US cities to winter totals of more than 12 feet since early October. And the season isn't over.

Total snowfall in Erie, PA reached a record 144.9 inches. Records for Erie date from 1847.

Total snowfall in Buffalo, NY reached 157.8 inches, the second highest total on record.

Total snowfall in Syracuse, NY reached 189.2 inches. The record is 192.1 inches in one season.

Near-record snowfalls at Sugarbush ski resort in Vermont have forced groomers to plow away snow beneath some lifts so the lifts can operate.
