26  May 10 - SAN FRANCISCO - "A rare late-spring storm, coming at the end of what has been a chilly May, will lead to a most unusual promotion this weekend at one Sierra resort - skiing on Memorial Day," says this article in the San Francisco Chronicle.

With new snow down to about the 6,900-foot level around Lake Tahoe, at least one resort is inviting skiers to enjoy one last fandango on the slopes.

The lifts at Donner Ski Ranch west of Lake Tahoe will be running until the snow melts, said owner Janet Tuttle.

"We're expecting spring skiing conditions with 6 more inches of snow over the next couple of days, then a bright blue sky
