Heavy Snow Hits Much of Britain
Worst in over two decades

______________________________

.
2 Feb 09 - South-east England has worst snow it has seen in more than two
decades, says London Mayor Boris Johnson.

All London buses (more than 8,000 buses) have been pulled from service,
and Heathrow's runways closed.

The Met Office has issued an extreme weather warning for England, Wales
and parts of eastern Scotland.

By late Monday, some parts of London could see a foot (30cm) of snow,
while northern England and the Pennines could see as much as 20 inches
(50cm) - made worse by strong winds and drifting snow.

Service on the Circle, Hammersmith and City tube lines is entirely
suspended, and trains are running a reduced service on most routes.

David Brown of Transport for London said the situation was "exceptional".
"We haven't had a circumstance like this for over two decades."

London's mayor blames "climatic" weather conditions.
I assume that means that the worst snow in two decades
will eventually be blamed on humans.
