Austrian Ski resort opens one month early
.
From the Austrian Tourist Board's website.......

This photo was taken on October 23, 2007 at Schladming-Dachstein, part of Austria’s Ski amadé resort and ski region. The resort was originally set to open on November 24, but due to early snowfalls it's winter opening was moved up a month to October 26. Winter's arrived!

Early snowfalls and continuing low temperatures in combination with high-end snowmaking facilities on Schladming's Planai mountain have ensured an excellent snow cover of at least 30cm (at the middle station).

Ski amadé is Austria’s largest network of ski lifts with 860 kilometres of slopes.
