14 Apr 11 - A late-season snowstorm is bearing down on the Northern Plains from the Black Hills to north-central Nebraska and southeastern North Dakota.

Rapid City, S.D.; Chadron, Neb.; Valentine, Neb.; and Aberdeen, S.D. can expect 6 to 12 inches of snow, says accuweather.com, while Fargo, N.D., and Duluth, Minn., can expect 3 to 6 inches.

"The worst of the snowstorm is currently under way across Alberta," says accuweather, "but snow is coming down across the Black Hills in South Dakota and northeastern Wyoming."

A separate swath of heavy snow may develop from northern Wisconsin to the western part of Michigan's Upper Peninsula Friday night and into parts of northwestern Ontario by Saturday.
