Winter arrives early in the Andes Almost a month early!
7 Jun 10 - Four storms rolled in across Chile's Valle Nevado in May blanketing the resort in more than a metre of fresh snow.
Kristina Schreck, media relations officer for Valle
Nevado, says: "The snow has arrived very early this year. We usually
see our first snow at the beginning of June but this year it came
May 6, which is a good sign we're in for an awesome winter."
Valle Nevado now has a 1.63 meter base one day before the official
start of winter.
