Whistler sets record for monthly snowfall
Not just the month of November,
|
2 Dec 09 - (Excerpts) - "The Olympic alpine venue recorded its snowiest
month ever in November, with 560 centimetres (more than 18 feet!) of snow."
"That's nearly four times the average during that month at Whistler Blackcomb and the most since weather data collection began 30 years ago. The previous record of 469 cm was set in January 2006."
As for the Olympics, which run Feb. 12-28, there is so much snow on the
mountains that Whistler Blackcomb officials are predicting a "fantastic
Games."
