"The Stockholm area HAD Record-Cold!!!" 6 Feb 10 - Two days ago I posted an email from a reader in Sweden who said that last month had been the coldest January in Stockholm since 1826. (See Coldest January in Sweden since 1826)
Yesterday a reader in Sweden disagreed. (See
Not the
coldest Today, this Swedish reader insists that the Stockholm area did indeed have a record cold January. I as well as many, many other swedes heard on SVT 1 (Sveriges television - kanal 1) on the "weather-report" (cannot remember the exakt day) that this January in Sweden (2010) was the Coldest since 1826! his report was only for the Stockholm-area (mälardalen). The Gulfstream sure IS getting weaker!!! Many roofs in the southern part of Sweden (and the west coast) are falling in of the heavy snow!!! Sweden is turning into an arctic country! Colorado reader Dean Geary adds, I don't want to belabor the point ad nausea, but the reader that wrote about the coldest January on record stated that the temperature during the month had not risen above 0 Celsius at all, and that had never happened before. The reader who was attempting to refute that misinterpreted that letter to infer that average temp was much colder in 1987. 2 entirely different statements.
