Skiing in Vermont in October |
|
|
I just wanted you to know that here in Vermont, i just skied two days in a row. On Saturday, I skied Mad River Glen - there was enough snow to ski to the base! On Sunday, I hiked up 1/2 way up Mount Mansfield to find 16- 20 inches of snow. It is the earliest I have ever skied!!! As expected, up here in VT, my daughter's friends told her "DUH, it's global warming!!!" I also had a friend tell me just last week that we don't get snow in the mountains anymore in October. I should have told her I have skied in October 3 of the last 4 years. She also said we never get frost anymore before Labor Day. I looked it up - we have only had frost ONCE before Labor Day. For the past 50 years!!!! I know weather isn't climate and I know the "alarmists" attribute every weather event as AGW, but if it were AGW, how would we still be getting snow in October? If people would just look at the records - we have had snow in October some years, others we have not. To me, nothing has changed!!!! Sincerely, Douglas Day avid skier and winter enthusiast
