According to the National Weather Service, Chicago's O'Hare International Airport received a record-breaking 19.5 inches of snow, not only shattering the previous record of 4.0 inches for the date set on February 1, 1967, but also establishing a new all-time daily snowfall record for the entire month. Chicago's previous snowfall record for February was 11.5 inches, set on February 18, 1908. In Oklahoma City, Will Rogers World Airport doubled its record snowfall on Tuesday with 11.8 inches.
