Sliding into the next ice age

16 Nov 10 - This graph of Greenland GISP2 ice core records makes it amply clear that the Holocene optimum, which peaked about 7,000 years ago, was considerably warmer than today.

Other than for a few minor wiggles upward, temperatures are now lower than during most of the past 7,000 years.

When you combine this graph with the speleothem temperature graph that I posted a couple of days ago (below), you'll see why I think we're sliding into the next ice age ... right now.
