6 Jan 10 - (Excerpts) - According to AccuWeather.com, nearly the entire eastern half of the United States is enduring bitterly cold temperatures not experienced since 1985. Even Florida, which has been hovering around freezing levels overnight recently, is feeling the almost-nationwide chill. "It'll be like the great winters of the '60s and '70s," said AccuWeather.com chief meteorologist and expert long range forecaster Joe Bastardi. It's amazing how the Goreites manage to convince themselves that no matter what happens with the climate it is always due to global warming. If it's bone chilling cold it's obviously due to the overheating of the planet. Anyone with an understanding of climate history from the remote past knows that many of the developments that preceded past ice ages mimicked many of those we are seeing today — increases in violent weather, widespread deforestation by fire, increased volcanic activity — and all are warning signs that an ice age, little or great, is in the cards. History shows that the planet has undergone ice ages on a regular schedule, 90 thousand years of glaciation followed by an inter-galacial period of 10 to 12 thousand years. The last ice age ended about 10 thousand years ago. Clearly, we are due for a new one any day now. There are big bucks to be made in the global warming scam — government and privately funded grants available for touting the alleged heating of Mother Earth. Attacking the hoax doesn't pay well. It's amazing how easy it has been to put science on the block. The motto among many alleged climate experts nowadays seems to be, "Whose bread I eat, his song I sing."
