The monster storm forced cancellation of some 2,000 flights, stranding millions of travelers. In the New York area, John F. Kennedy International Airport, La Guardia Airport and Newark International in New Jersey were all closed Sunday and overnight. Meanwhile, light to moderate snow blanketed many parts of Alabama, Mississippi, and North Carolina, a very rare Christmas occurrence. In fact, Atlanta, Georgia enjoyed its first white Christmas in 128 years. The storm is expected to hit Nova Scotia later today.
