Did earthquake trigger Antarctic ice collapse?

Dear Robert,

There's been much publicity regarding the recent demise of yet another Antarctic ice shelf, due of course to climate change and our demon ways. 

There's been a little less publicity, or should I say no publicity about an earthquake on the Pacific-Antarctic ridge 3930 km (2440 miles) SE of Wellington, New Zealand on 17 March 08.

Of course, it could just be coincidence . . . . . .

Let's keep on trying to keep the media honest. 

I don't know whether the earthquake triggered the collapse or not, but it sure would have been nice if at least one member of the media had reported it.
