Coldest May on record for Darwin
Not just one day, mind you, |
|
|
31 May 11 - Darwin and other parts of Northern Australia have just endured their coldest May on record, says this article by Ellen Wescott-Dawson. Not just one day, mind you, but the entire bloody month. Darwin's nighttime temperatures ran more than two degrees colder than average, while daytime temps ran more than a degree colder than average. Nighttime minimums averaged 19.9 degrees Celsius, and daytime maximums averaged just under 31 degrees.
"The cold has affected every district in the Northern Territory”,
said Weatherzone meteorologist Brett Dutschke.
