Cold Hits 30 Cities in Hidalgo

22 Dec 09 - Hidalgo registered its first frost of the season in 30 of 84 municipalities of the state, where temperatures fell to 8 to 2 degrees Celsius. It is expected that by the end of the week it will be zero degrees mainly in the high plateau areas. The cold wave has affected areas in the north, center and south of Mexico.

Director of the State Civil Defense System, Miguel García Conde, confirmed that this season has not been typical, because warm temperatures are usually recorded in the beginning of December, also in the middle of the week there was heavy rain in almost the entire state, and with the beginning of winter the first frost was recorded in 30 of the 84 municipalities.
He says that January will be a month when much greater cold will be
experienced."
