California - Wet weekend to shatter rainfall records
With record snowpack in the mountains, this is the last thing Sacramento needs |

3 Jun 11 - "It might even be as wet as it was 127 years ago (June 1884) when residents were driving horse-and-buggies," says this article by Victoria Colliver. "All rainfall records will be broken over the next two days," said Steve Anderson, forecaster for the National Weather Service, emphasizing that these month-long records will be shattered in just the first few days of this month. "Forecasters predict San Francisco will receive one to two inches through the weekend with the bulk of the rain hitting tonight and continuing through Saturday afternoon. The unusual influx of rain cannot be blamed on global warming, El Niņo or some other larger weather phenomenon, said Anderson.
"We would love to pin it on something or point to a source of
origin, but you can't do that with one storm,' he said." Thanks to Kay Garden for this link
