Hi Robert and a chilly good day to you!
Vanguardia has published the following article about the current weather
in Mexico:
The first couple of paragraphs are translated following:
"CITY OF MEXICO. - Arrival of Cold Front Number 14 and associated cold
air in the morning is keeping temperatures very low and causing night
frosts in the northern mesas, the central mesa and the western part of
the country, as well as the northern part of the Gulf of Mexico, the
National Meteorological Service has advised.
It has alerted the states of Aguascalientes, Coahuila, Chiapas,
Chihuahua, Federal District, Durango, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Jalisco,
Mexico, Michoacán, Morelos, Nuevo Leon, Oaxaca, Puebla, San Luis Potosi,
Sonora, Tamaulipas, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, and Zacatecas where temperatures
could fall below five degrees Celsius."
It goes on to say that there will be cloudy, rainy weather with strong
winds in the states of Campeche, Chiapas, Quintano Roo, Tabasco,
Tamaulipas, Veracruz and Yucatan.
In other words, almost 80% of Mexico is going to be experiencing very cold not
typically Mexican weather especially at night.
In other words, almost 80% of Mexico is suffering from the cold coming from the
current large Arctic outflow...
Here in Saltillo this morning we woke up to a low of 5 C with light winds. The
local forecast for tonight is clear with a low of 1 °C, Wind South 14 km/h and
Windchill of 1 °C . It is reminiscent of winter weather in the Okanagan Valley
in British Columbia, Canada.
Kindest regards,
Alan Stover
